Click the Start button
to load the simulation and its corresponding engine details into the server’s memory.
-
When loading a simulation that contains a TRISIM engine and a cross reference list, the Simulation Options dialog appears with two simulation load options: Enable Cross Referencing and Auto disable erroneous rows. If this dialog box appears, uncheck both since this simulation does not contain a valid checkpoint file and cross referencing does not exist.
-
Enable Cross Referencing: Every time you wish to communicate between any two points in two different simulation engines, you will need to enable cross referencing. In this example, we will communicate between the DYNSIM-L engine and the TRISIM engine.
-
Auto disable erroneous rows: If cross referencing fails, you may choose to disable the cross referencing points that fail automatically.

Note: The Triconex emulator form may overlay this pop-up during the startup process hiding it from view. To regain focus on the pop-up, click on the simulation.
-
When running a simulation for the first time, or the configuring of a new TRISIM engine, an error popup appears telling the user to download emulator files as shown below. In DYNSIM 6.0 no popup will appear, check the Messages window.

Important! Before resuming the running of any simulation that is configured with a TRISIM engine, download the TRISIM emulator files. See the AVEVA Simulation for Triconex Systems – User Guide sections Simulation with TRISIM / Download the Emulator Files.
Do not shut down the process model. Continue to the next section to generate the emulator files.
Multiple engines may exist per simulation with uniquely named emulator files and engine names. Emulator files for each configured TRISIM engine must be present in the simulation directory. One download per PT2 file is required by the user to complete the engine configuration process prior to running the simulation for the first time.
See theAVEVA Simulation for Triconex Systems – User Guide sections Understanding Peer-to-Peer Configuration, TRISIM Engine Peer-to-Peer Options for use of more than one TRISIM engine.
