In this section, export the TriStation Tagname Database to aid in cross reference generation.
NOTE: Read the AVEVA Simulation for Triconex Systems – User Guide sections "Simulation Configuration", "TRISIM Engine", and "Simulation with TRISIM" before proceeding.
-
Click the Start button on the lower left hand corner of the screen.
-
From the displayed menu, select Programs.
-
From the displayed menu to the right, select Triconex.
-
From the displayed menu to the right, select TriStation 1131.
-
From the File dropdown menu, select Open Project.
-
Select the project to open and then click on Open. The Project Log On dialog box appears.

-
Place the cursor in the Log on Name: field and enter MANAGER.
-
Place the cursor in the Password: field and enter PASSWORD.
-
Click the Log On button. The selected project will appear.
-
Verify the Application Workspace is active.
-
Right click on the Tagname Declarations.

-
Select Export.
-
Starting with TriStation 4.14, you are offered four export options:
-
Export with Legacy Aliases
-
Export with Extended Aliases
-
Export with Legacy Aliases & Alarm Attributes
-
Export with Extended Aliases & Alarm Attributes
-
-
Select options 1 or 2 as TRISIM cannot use the export tagname database when Alarm Attributes are included.
-
Navigate to the desired directory, select a file name, select ‘Comma Delimited Text Files’, and then select Export.
Note: Select a descriptive name to ease configuration in the remaining sections. This file will be the "TriStation exported tagnames file" in the TRISIM engine configuration options window inside DYNSIM.

-
Copy the Simple_Flowsheet_Tag.txt file to the DYNSIM simulation directory. In our example the directory is, C:\Simsci\DSSnn\Simulations\Simple_Flowsheet_TSBASE.
-
Shut down the DYNSIM simulation, edit the TRISIM engine configuration, enter Simple_Flowsheet_Tag.txt in the TriStation exported tagnames file field, close the engine configuration window, and restart the DYNSIM simulation.
