Missing Prerequisite

AVEVA Simulation for Triconex Systems (TRISIM 4.2) does not install the necessary Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) required to use the FNP license. When TRISIM 4.2 is run without this redistributable it is unable to obtain a license.

Other SIMSCI products (such as AVEVA Dynamic Simulation [DYNSIM] 5.3.2, DYNSIM 6.0, DYNSIM 6.1, DYNSIM 6.2, AVEVA Simulation for Foxboro Control [SCP] 3.1, and SCP 4.0) install the necessary redistributable. When TRISIM is installed on the same machine as one of the aforementioned SIMSCI products, it locates the redistributable and obtains a license.

Workaround:

1. Manually download Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784.

2. Shutdown the simulation.

3. Run vcredist_x86.exe by following the instructions and accepting the defaults.

4. Start the simulation.
