Operating Environment

The following diagram shows the communication between the AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum service in the cloud, the Edge Connector services on the LAN and the AVEVA Unified Engineering product components on the same LAN.

Note:
The ports between Edge Connector and component are configurable - if you chose a different port during installation (default is 5005 and 5006).

Before an Edge Connector can be used, the Edge Connector services must be downloaded and installed from the AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum Administration web dashboard. The installed services run as Windows services with local user permissions.

AVEVA Unified Engineering product components are installed on customer PCs running Windows 10. The Customer Support site at https://support.aveva.com gives details for these components.

As administrator, you need to ensure that a suitable device or VM is provided for the Edge Connector.
