CONNECT is a web portal from which you can launch and manage your integrated product components in a unified way. Underneath the web portal is a set of services and libraries which registered product components use to integrate with the cloud platform and with each other.

AVEVA Unified Engineering

The AVEVA Unified Engineering software product components are Windows desktop applications for simulation, engineering, and design activities. These components are accompanied by the related server-side infrastructure.The underlying technologies used to deliver the AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum cloud service are provided by a public cloud platform, plus the supporting CONNECT services.

The client product components are: ​

• AVEVA Administration,

• AVEVA E3D Design,

• AVEVA Engineering.

AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum

AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum is an AVEVA service to:

• Share project data between AVEVA’s engineering authoring components.

• Centralize project data in CONNECT.

• Connect project teams to the same project data from all locations.

The Spectrum service runs on the CONNECT platform in the cloud and provides access to the data for AVEVA Unified Engineering, for example, AVEVA E3D Design, AVEVA Administration, to work on-premises.

In AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum all Dabacon project data (databases and also non-Dabacon project files) are persisted in secure Cloud storage, and accessible only to properly authenticated users and product components.

AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum Project

A Dabacon Project which has been uploaded to the AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum service in the cloud. In order to use a AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum Project it must be enabled on an Edge Connector.

AVEVA Edge Connector for AVEVA Unified Engineering

The 'AVEVA Edge Connector for AVEVA Unified Engineering' (from now on referred to Edge Connector) provides a cache of the Spectrum Project data shared by all users on a given LAN. The Edge Connector is a collection of services hosted each site: Connector DB Sync, Connector Page, Connector Claim and Connector File Sync Service.

Community

A Community can be setup in CONNECT to share data from a AVEVA Unified Engineering - Spectrum service with another CONNECT account. Users in the other CONNECT account will be able to access the shared data while using their own flex credits
