Object name length limitations and compatibility

This version of System Platform extends the maximum name length for Application Server instance objects from 32 to 128 characters.

• The maximum length of an object plus attribute and any extensions can be as long as 329 characters.

• Not all products that can be used with System Platform allow the same object and attribute name lengths.

• Only application object instances support 128 characters.

• The maximum name length for WinPlatform instances is 127 characters.

• The maximum name length remains 32 characters for templates and visualization objects such as Graphics, Layouts, Screen Profiles, ViewAppNamespaces, ViewApps, InTouch ViewApps, and ViewEngines.

The following products that are often installed with System Platform have different limitations than System Platform for object/attribute names.
