High availability support

Historian provides built-in support for Stratus ft3500 fault-tolerant servers. Other high availability features include:

• Tiering: Using the replication functionality with a small local Historian on site that replicates to two tier 2 Historians.

• Virtualization: Using HyperV or VMware high availability options with Historian running on a virtual machine. For more information, see the Virtualization section of the System Platform Virtualization guide.

• Redundancy: Application Server can send data to two Historians at once and maintains independent store-and-forward channels to each.
