Effective resource allocation is critical to the performance, stability, and scalability of an AVEVA System Platform deployment. As a real-time industrial application framework, System Platform relies on carefully provisioned compute, memory, storage, and network resources to ensure deterministic response and high availability.

It is important to allocate adequate computing resources for each VM, including:

• Processor

• Memory

• Storage

• Network

This section describes how to configure hardware compatibility, processor allocation, and memory allocation for your hypervisor. Hyper-V and vSphere use different methods for allocating resources. If you are using a different virtualization technology, refer to the applicable user documentation.
