System Monitor Manager

Issue number

Description

Bug 4289884

You may be blocked from configuring the System Monitor Manager after installing this patch if you did not configure the System Monitor Manager after installing System Platform 2023 R2 SP1. Configuration of the System Monitor Manager may then fail with the following error:

Unable to connect System Monitor Manager.
Error code - ServiceUnavailable

Workaround

If the system is in the error state during patch installation, start with Step 1.

If you ignored the error and restarted System Platform after this patch was installed, start with Step 5; skip Steps 1 through 4.

  1. Complete all remaining product configuration, except the System Monitor Manager plugin (located under AVEVA System Monitor).

  2. Close the Configurator.

  3. Allow the Galaxy Patcher to complete, as well as any other remaining activities for patch installation.

  4. Restart the system as prompted at the end of the patch installation.

  5. After the system restarts, from Start > Run, open Services.msc.

  6. Locate the Sentinel Console Service. Open the service properties window and change the service startup type to Automatic.

  7. Start the Sentinel Console Service.

  8. Close the Services window.

  9. From the Windows Start menu, select AVEVA > Configurator to open the Configurator.

  10. Configure the System Monitor Manager and any other remaining plugins that are not configured.

  11. Close the Configurator.
