Distributed COM (DCOM)

DCOM has been mostly replaced by gRPC within Application Server, beginning with the release of System Platform 2023. With the release of System Platform 2023 R2 SP1 P01, DCOM is used by the aaPIM component in Application Server and by the Communication Drivers Pack (CDP).

• CDP uses port 135 only as a listening port for DCOM.

• aaPIM uses ports within the range of 49152 through 65535. This range is not configurable.
