AVEVA™ Deliverables Management

Manage identities

Identities are used to define a group hierarchy or a type of role. For example, the overarching identity of Engineering would be positioned at a higher level than other identities, for example Project A and Project B which are members of the Engineering department. Identities are also used to assign roles to users that determine what the user can do.

When defining a subgroup as an example, consider adding the ALM Document Controller identity to the Engineering group, which means that all Document Controller identities are now in the Engineering group.

User identities are automatically created when the user is created.

Default groups

Four groups are created as identities by default and should be used when configuring users for asset lifecycle management in Innovator.

  • ALM Administrators: If users will be configuring Innovator, they must be added to this group.

  • ALM Document Controllers: If users will be managing documents, they must be added to this group.

  • ALM Project Managers: If users will be managing projects, they must be added to this group.

  • ALM Viewers: All users need to be part of the ALM Viewers group in Innovator.

View identities

The names of these user types are custom built per customer requirements so a generalized understanding of activity is described in this guide.

  1. From the Contents menu, select Asset Lifecycle Management and then Configuration and then Identities.

  2. Select Search Identities to display the Identities page with a list of all identities.
