Asset lifecycle management (ALM) is the systematic approach to managing an asset's lifecycle from its initial acquisition through its operational use, maintenance, and eventual disposal or retirement. The goal of asset lifecycle management is to maximize the value and performance of assets while minimizing costs and risks throughout their lifespan.

A user employs AVEVA Deliverables Management to assemble, review, and approve technical documentation as part of AVEVA’s asset lifecycle management solution. It is a secure, centralized system designed to store, validate, and manage high-quality Engineering Systems of Records, including critical documents such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, isometric drawings, equipment lists, and control strategies documentation. As the authoritative source for all engineering data, it ensures that only approved, compliant, and mature records are stored after routing through a rigorous approval workflow.

AVEVA Deliverables Management provides the Engineering Source of Record for the digital asset, supporting design, operation, maintenance, and compliance, and ensuring reliable access to essential records throughout the asset lifecycle.

This workflow describes the process by which documents and data are approved.

Deliverables Management workflow

The process shown uses the following applications to review and approve data.

There are four applications that enable Deliverables Management manipulation of data to collect, review and approve, and visualize the data of assets.

  • Data collection: AVEVA™ Engineering (part of AVEVA™ Unified Engineering)

  • Data collection: AVEVA™ E3D (part of AVEVA Unified Engineering)

  • Data approval: Innovator™ (powered by Aras™)

  • Data visualization: AVEVA™ Asset Information Management (AIM) - AIM is an optional product and not discussed in this guide
