Prepare documents

Documents are predefined in Innovator to establish document numbering and naming conventions. These parameters/metadata are used when publishing individual files and data from AVEVA Unified Engineering. The document numbering can be created from an external system, like an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
The Document Controller role is necessary to perform this activity.

In Innovator, select Asset Lifecycle Management and then Documents.

Select Search Documents and Search again to show existing documents.

Select New Document.

Enter the information necessary for creating the new document. Review the following document information:

Files – The files associated with the asset, which can be Excel and PDF files.

Changes – The list of changes made to the asset.

Tag References – The reference to the tags to which the check pack belongs.

Datasets – The data that comprises the files and has been transferred to Innovator.

Comments – Any commentary made during the approval process.

Hold Notices – The hold notification if the asset is on hold.

Select Save.
