Manage the class library

A class library is generated first in AVEVA Information Standards Manager (ISM). The class library or vocabulary determines the mappings used by AVEVA Unified Engineering to communicate with Innovator and then exporting to AVEVA AIM (Asset Information Manager). It is an agreement between the systems that links the vocabulary (or data model) between them.
-
If a change occurs with the class library, the update should first occur in AVEVA Information Standards Manager application, and then load the updated XML file into Innovator.
-
The mapping definitions can be updated in Innovator directly but this method is strongly discouraged as a a way to keep systems in sync. Instead, the recommended method is to make all changes in ISM and then import the file containing the updates.
-
Only one class library is active per Innovator instance.
-
If an attribute is changed or removed in AVEVA Information Standards Manager and data is attached in Innovator to the attribute, errors occur and the update fails. This does not occur when a new class library is initially uploaded.
-
Attribute-based aspect mappings are supported, enabling mapping to a common property - for example aspect.weight maps to weight. This enables automatic synchronization between class-level attributes and item common properties.
-
If the model identifiers are harmonized, then no additional mapping is required.
