Configure the ALM settings in AVEVA Engineering

These instructions are to be used by AVEVA Engineering users. For more information about working in AVEVA Engineering, see the AVEVA Engineering guide.

Configure asset lifecycle management settings

You must enter the Innovator configuration details, including the password for your Innovator user, before you can use the Deliverables Management add-in.

1. In AVEVA Engineering select Project from the top ribbon.

2. Select ALM Settings then Innovator Settings.

3. If your system administrator has distributed a configuration file, the Innovator configuration values are already set. Select the correct Configuration from the drop-down list.

   Otherwise, enter the values provided by your system administrator:

   • Configuration: A name used to identify the set of configuration settings.

   • ALM Server: The URL for the Aras Innovator service.

     Note: AVEVA Engineering must be restarted to enable the updated URL.

   • Vocabulary: The name of the nomenclature defined in the class library. This is not needed if the names for the classes and attributes used in the ISM class library are identical to the class and attribute/characteristics defined in the AVEVA Unified Engineering data model. See Manage the class library for information.

   • Database: The name of the Aras Innovator database in use.

   • Username: This is automatically provided by Aras Innovator.

   • Password: This is automatically provided by Aras Innovator.

     

4. Verify the correct Username is displayed and enter your Innovator Password.

   Note: The password is saved in the Windows Credential manager, a secure storage repository.

5. Select Save to confirm the settings.

Asset configuration

You can select assets defined in Innovator.

6. In AVEVA E3D select Project from the main ribbon.

7. Select ALM Settings then Asset Configuration.

8. From the Asset drop-down menu, select the asset to be used for publishing.

Renditions to publish

You can enable different file types to be exported during Publishing.

9. In AVEVA E3D select Project from the top ribbon.

10. Select ALM Settings then Renditions to publish.

11. Select the file types available for export, by type.

Configure List Templates

The list templates use the reports, configured by the report designer, to discretely define desired list attributes. For example, an Equipment List might need the Installation Status attribute defined.

12. In AVEVA Engineering select Project from the main ribbon.

13. Select ALM Settings then List Templates.

14. For each of the list types, define as required and add up to four attributes that you will use to filter the list.

15. Once selected, the list configuration is automatically saved.

Default Values

Default values are established in Aras Innovator.

• If empty, select the Owner and Purpose. Once selected, the values are automatically saved. See Set owner and purpose for additional information.

Reset Default Values

Once entered, the Purpose and Owner cannot be deleted directly. However, they can be removed by resetting the application to its default values.

16. After ensuring that no other changes have been made, select ALM Server Settings.

17. Select Save. This resets all updated settings and removes the Owner and Purpose.
