Export templates

If check packs are publishing into AVEVA AIM or data needs review from external users, then export templates must be configured. The export template determines how and where the data from Innovator will be published. There are two methods of publication:
-
Publishing into AIM using the Info Interface format
-
Publishing data externally for review using the TDP Export format
Each publication method supports different transfer options:
Info Interface supported delivery mechanisms
-
Ingestion Pipeline: (a data transmission): This REST API uses an access token which can expire; it is suggested to set up a process to track these tokens and their expiry dates.
-
Network Drive: Folder share
TDP format supported delivery mechanisms
-
FTP: FTP transfer
-
Network Drive: Folder share
Transmittals
Transmittals are another way to deliver files and are used for sending data to other external systems using a dedicated export template. Transmittals are used when the data does not export from AVEVA Unified Engineering. See Create TDP export template for a Transmittal for additional information.
Create export template
-
Select Asset Lifecycle Management and Configuration and then Export Templates.
-
Select Search Export Templates and Search again to see existing templates; otherwise, select Create New Export Template.
-
Enter the name of the template.
-
Select Check Pack for the Item Type.
-
Select the Info Interface Classification. This defines the structure of the spreadsheet where the register determines the number of columns. The interface is created in AVEVA Information Standards Manager and imported into Innovator.
-
Select Innovator for Info Interface.
-
Select the transfer methodology to be used: Network Drive or Ingestion Pipeline. Either selection requires additional configuration:
-
Network Drive: enter the File Format (naming of the file created) and Export Location (the file path’s publishing location).
-
Ingestion Pipeline: enter the File Format, Ingestion Pipeline URL, and Access Token.
-
-
Select the Processing Type, or how the publishing will occur, either using parallel jobs or sequential jobs.
Note: AVEVA AIM does not recognize versions and selects the oldest job first. Sequential should be selected to ensure the correct order of publishing.
-
Enter the Max Retry Count, or how many retries it will perform before it stops.
-
Select Save and Done.
-
Return the list of export templates, select the one just created, and reopen it.
-
Select Promote.
-
Select Active and then the green checkmark to promote it. This quickly validates the settings of the template to ensure the details are correct.
