With the access permissions in this table, the PI APS Configuration Utility can interactively create available points and edit or delete existing points. If these capabilities are not needed, only read access is required for the PIPOINT table, individual PI points, and the PIDS table.

With the access permissions in this table, the PI APS Synchronization Engine can automatically create, edit, or delete PI points. If automatic rules are not used for any registered interface instance, only read access is required for the PIPOINT table, individual PI points, and the PIDS table.

The access permissions for the PI APS Synchronization Trigger service are a subset of the access permissions for the PI APS Synchronization Engine. Therefore, if a PI Mapping is created for the Windows account of the PI APS Synchronization Engine service, the same Windows account can be used for the PI APS Synchronization Trigger service.
