PI AutoPointSync

Help menu

  • Last UpdatedMar 07, 2023
  • 2 minute read

The Help menu contains three commands:

  • Contents

  • Connector Manual

  • About

Contents

The Contents command opens the online help for PI APS. The help file contains essentially the same information as this manual.

Connector Manual

The Connector Manual command opens the user guide for the PI APS Connector of the selected interface if the user guide is installed. OSIsoft has discontinued distribution of user guides and release notes in setup kits. For this command to work, the user guide for the PI APS Connector must be downloaded separately and stored in the subfolder of %PIHOME%\APS\Connectors for the PI APS Connector.

About PI AutoPointSync Connector dialog box

The About command opens the About PI AutoPointSync Configuration Utility dialog box that displays version and timeout information for major PI APS components:

This dialog box shows the overall version of PI APS followed by versions of major components. To facilitate code sharing between the PI APS Configuration Utility and Synchronization Engine, functions that are needed by both are built into dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). PI APS also shares code with PI ICU by means of DLLs.

Except for PI SDK, these components are only intended for use by PI APS and/or PI ICU and are integral parts of those applications. They do not contain any user-callable functions.
