Create Point(s)

The Create Point(s) command creates the selected points in PI Server. A check box on the APS Connector tab of the Options dialog box selects how a duplicate tag name error is handled. See Tag Names in APS Connector tab. If the name of an available point already exists in PI Server, the PI APS Configuration Utility either reports the failure or constructs an alternate name for the new point and tries again to create the point. If multiple points are selected, the first error terminates the operation. After the selected points are added to PI Server, the grid is refreshed to show the remaining available points, if any.
