Install PI APS

Log on as a user with Administrator or Power User privileges.

1. Run PIAutoPointSync_x_x_x_x_.exe to install PI APS.

   Note: Installing PI APS can upgrade PI API and PI SDK, which may stop operational interfaces on the computer. If installation stops any interfaces, the interfaces must be manually restarted.

2. If PI APS synchronizes points on remote PI Servers:

   1. Configure PI mappings or PI trusts on the remote PI Servers to allow the Sync Engine and PI APS Synchronization Trigger service to automatically connect.

   2. Optional: Configure a PI mapping or PI trust for the PI APS Configuration Utility.

3. Install the PI APS Connectors for the interfaces or PI COM Connectors whose points are to be synchronized on the same computer as PI APS.

   For example, to synchronize points for instances of the PI to PI Interface, install the PI to PI Interface - APS Connector on the PI APS computer.

4. Add the PI Servers that PI APS is allowed to synchronize to the Known Servers Table.

5. Start the PI APS Synchronization Engine service.

6. Start the PI APS Synchronization Trigger service.

7. Open PI APS Configuration Utility and enable the Synchronization Engine.
