When the PI point edits button is selected, the grid displays points that have synchronizable attributes with different values in PI Server and the data source. The shortcut menu contains three commands:
The cells highlighted with a yellow background indicate attributes with synchronization enabled where the value in the data source was different from the current value in PI Server during the last synchronization scan. Each highlighted cell shows the value the data source had during the last synchronization scan followed by the current value in PI Server in the format . In the figure, the cell for Span in the last row indicates that the data source value is 220 but the current value in PI Server is 100. If edits are accepted for the last row, the Span attribute for point Station1:APMPS109A is changed to 220 (along with a change to any other highlighted attributes in the row that might not be visible).
Note: The data source values shown in the grid for PI point edits were stored in the APSPoints database during the last synchronization scan and are not necessarily the same as the data source values now. If edits are accepted, the stored data source values are written to PI Server.
The appearance of a highlighted cell for a string-valued attribute (for example, Descriptor, ExDesc, InstrumentTag) is somewhat odd when the current value in PI Server is empty. In this case, the highlighted cell shows . A cell with contents similar to this indicates that the data source had a nonempty value during the last synchronization scan for a PI point attribute that is currently empty.
