Use this procedure to use PI APS to initially create points.

In the PI APS Configuration Utility, click Settings > Rules.
The Rules for interface dialog box appears.

Select Store in Available points database in the Points Not in PI area on the Rules for interface dialog box.

Allow PI APS to run a synchronization scan to find all available points.

Review the available points. Mark all tags that should not be created on PI Server as hidden points.

After hiding points, you can modify Rules for automatic creation.
