Create Diagnostics File dialog box

  • Last UpdatedMar 07, 2023

Click the Diagnostics command to open the Create Diagnostic File dialog box:

This dialog box is mainly intended as an aid for OSIsoft technical support. It creates a file that contains details about the selected interface instance that are frequently needed to troubleshoot problems. For example, the specific interface and PI APS Connector, version information for PI APS components, and the PI APS configuration settings for the interface are written to the diagnostic file. Instead of having to ask you to report settings from many different dialog boxes, the diagnostic file gathers all of this information into a single file that can be electronically transferred.

Directory for Diagnostic File interface_Diags.txt

The label shows the name of the diagnostic file that is created. The box shows the default folder where the diagnostic file is created. The default folder is the folder created by PI APS for the interface. The button opens a dialog box that allows a different folder to be chosen.

Create File

Click Create File to create or overwrite the diagnostic file. The information written to the diagnostic file is also displayed in the large box.
