PI AutoPointSync

Unregister

The Unregister command unregisters the selected interface instance from PI APS. After unregistering an interface instance, PI APS no longer synchronizes the points for the interface instance. Confirmation is required:

When an interface instance is registered, the PI APS Configuration Utility creates a folder for the instance under the %PIHOME%\APS folder. The name of the folder for the instance has the form InterfaceHost_InterfaceName_PIServer, where InterfaceHost is the host name where the interface runs, InterfaceName is the interface's short service name, and PIServer is the host name of the PI Server that contains the interface's points. An APSPoints database (APSPoints.mdb) is created in this folder. As synchronization scans occur, the PI APS Sync Engine creates log files in both the %PIHOME%\APS folder and optionally in the instance folder. When an interface instance is unregistered, the log files in both folders, APSPoints database, and instance folder are not removed. Unless you anticipate reregistering this interface instance and specifically want to preserve the per-point synchronization settings for Existing Points, OSIsoft recommends that you delete the log files, APSPoints database, and instance folder after unregistering an interface instance.
