Rename the computer on which PI APS runs

PI APS stores its settings in the PI Module Database of the PI Server on which the points for the registered interfaces are configured. The PI APS settings are stored in and under a module that has the same name as the PI APS computer. If the computer name is changed, then the name of this module must also be changed to the new name. Use the Module Database Editor in the PI System Management Tools (PI SMT) to make the change.

  1. Click Start > Programs > PI System > PI System Management Tools to start PI SMT.

  2. Click Operation > Module Database.

  3. Navigate to Modules > %OSI > AutoPointSync

  4. In the modules under AutoPointSync, change the name of the module from the old computer name to the new name.
