Installation, upgrade, and uninstallation of PI APS

PI points managed by PI APS must be on a PI Server that contains a Module Database.

PI APS is implemented in 32-bit mode and, therefore, requires the 32-bit PI SDK on the same computer. The PI APS installation kit installs or upgrades the PI SDK, if necessary.

The PI APS installation kit is called PIAutoPointSync_x_x_x_x_.exe. This installation kit is used for both installing and upgrading PI APS.

The PI APS installation kit installs the following products:

• PI SDK

• PI ICU (a shortcut titled PI Interface Configuration Utility is added to the Start > Programs > PI System menu)

• PI APS (a shortcut titled PI APS Configuration Utility is added to the Start Programs > PI System menu)

  Note: The PI APS installation kit does not contain any PI APS Connectors. Each PI APS Connector has a separate installation kit.
