PI APS Connectors

PI APS Connectors are similar to PI Interfaces and PI COM Connectors in that they are installed separately from PI APS. Multiple PI APS Connectors can be executed on one PI APS node. The only limitation is resources on the PI APS node. Unless PI APS is managing points for a PI COM Connector, OSIsoft recommends that you do not run PI APS on the PI Server node but on a separate node.

Presently, PI APS Connectors must be installed and executed on the same computer as the PI APS Synchronization Engine and the PI APS Configuration Utility. Some PI APS Connectors must run on the same computer as the interface (consult the documentation for each PI APS Connector). Therefore, if the PI APS Connector must execute on the same computer as the interface, a copy of PI APS installed on the interface node must be used to synchronize the interface. Otherwise, PI APS and PI APS Connectors can be installed on any computer that satisfies the prerequisites of the PI APS Connectors.

For current details on which PI Interfaces and PI COM Connectors are supported by PI APS, see OSIsoft Technical Support (http://techsupport.osisoft.com).
