PI AutoPointSync

Grid area

The grid at the bottom of the main PI APS Configuration Utility window has multiple columns. The first column always indicates whether synchronization is enabled for the listed point; the other columns show the PI point attributes. You can configure which attributes are displayed in the grid, and the order in which they are displayed, via the Columns command on the Settings menu. You can configure whether attributes are displayed with PI point names or data source names via the Column Header Names command on the Settings menu. The only columns you cannot remove from the grid are the Sync and Tagname columns. Also, the width of a column can be adjusted by dragging the separator to the right of the column title in the heading row. The preceding figure shows widened Tagname, exdesc, and descriptor columns in the grid.

The Sync column indicates the master synchronization setting for the point in each row. A check in the Sync column indicates that synchronization is enabled for the point in the row. If there is no check, then synchronization is disabled for this point. This column does not apply to available or hidden points, because only existing points can be synchronized.

The default colors that indicate Synchronization On/Off settings of individual attributes in the grid area are:

Color

Synchronization

Dark Green

Indicates that synchronization is enabled for the attribute.

Dark Blue

Indicates that synchronization is off for this attribute.

Light Gray

Indicates that the attribute cannot be synchronized after a point is created.

These colors are configurable, as discussed in the General tab section for the Options dialog box.
