Historization of performance counter data

The data that is written to performance counters can be stored in Data Archive with the PI Interface for Performance Monitor. There is a Full version and a Basic version of this interface. The Basic version of the interface is bundled with PI3.3 and greater.

Note: More recent versions of PI Server may not bundle this interface. See PI Server documentation on Live Library. PI Interface for Performance Monitor can be downloaded from the OSIsoft customer portal.

The Basic version has four limitations:

• It must run on the same computer as the PI Server.

• It collects data for a maximum of 32 points.

• Only one instance of the interface is allowed.

• Data can be collected for performance counters only on the local computer.
