Platforms for PI APS

The PI APS Configuration Utility, Synchronization Trigger service, and Sync Engine, as well as all currently implemented PI APS connectors, run on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows systems. PI APS components are implemented in 32-bit mode. When PI APS is installed on a 64-bit operating system, then PI APS components run in 32-bit emulation mode. This requires the 32-bit version of PI SDK, which provides the programming interface from applications to PI Server. (The PI APS installation kit includes and installs the 32-bit version of the PI SDK.)

The Windows node can be a PI Server node or an Interface node. Because the PI APS configuration settings are stored in PI Module Database, the points maintained by PI APS must be on a Windows PI Server.
