Comma-separated values

The option buttons in the Format area determine how the exported data are formatted when written to files. Select Comma separated values (CSV) format to export point information into text files.

Directory for Export File(s)

The Directory for export file(s): box shows the folder where the export files are created. The default folder is the folder created by PI APS for the interface. Click to open a dialog box where you can choose a different folder.

Export the following types of points

The Export the following types of points area contains a check box for each of the point categories that can be selected on the main window for display in the grid. Unlike the grid, which can only display one category at a time, any combination of categories can be exported in the same operation. Because the number and content of columns varies for each category of point information, separate export files are created for each category. The name of the export file for each category is shown in the labels for the check boxes.

Apply 'Search Criteria' from main form

The Apply 'Search Criteria' from main form check box controls whether all points in each category are exported or only a subset. If this box is cleared, all points in each selected category are exported. If this box is selected, the Tag Search Criteria on the main window are applied to each point category in the same manner as when that point category is loaded into the grid. Since there is only one set of Tag Search Criteria, it applies to all selected point categories. Only the Tag pattern applies to available points, hidden points, PI point edits, or PI point deletes.

Export

Click the Export button to create export files for the selected point categories.

Open File(s)

Each button in this area is available if the corresponding export file exists in the selected directory. Clicking a button in this area opens the indicated export file in Notepad.
