For PI Server version 3.4.380 or later, PI mappings can be created that allow PI APS programs to automatically log on. For details about PI mappings, see the PI Server documentation.

Windows accounts must map to a PI Identity with access permissions listed in these tables:

  • For the PI APS Configuration Utility, see the tables for the PI APS Configuration Utility.

  • For the PI APS Synchronization Engine service, see the tables for the PI APS Synchronization Engine.

  • For the PI APS Synchronization Trigger service, see the tables for the Synchronization Trigger service.

Because the access permissions for the PI APS Synchronization Trigger service are a subset of the access permissions for the PI APS Synchronization Engine, the Windows account for the PI APS Synchronization Engine also can be used for the PI APS Synchronization service.
