Configure automatic backup of the Data Archive scheduled backup directory

Use a third-party backup tool to configure regularly scheduled backups of the scheduled backup directory. The backup should store the files on a different computer from Data Archive.

You can use any backup strategy that is available with the third-party backup program. For example, you could choose to do a combination of full and incremental backups, full and differential backups, or a combination of full, incremental, and differential backups.

Third-party software reduces your backup administrative tasks. For example, typical third-party backup software can be configured to discard old backups after a specified period. Also, IT can typically manage third-party backup software so that the PI system manager can attend to other tasks.
