Message structure

Messages contain the following information:

• Severity

  One of the following severity levels (pigetmsg shows the severity level in a single-letter code):

• Critical (C)

• Error (E)

• Warning (W)

• Information (I)

• Debug (D)

• Time stamp

  The time when the component wrote the message.

• Source

  The component that wrote the message.

• Message ID

  The unique identifier of a particular message type.

• Text

  The message text, which describes the event.

For example:
