Data Archive Administration

Customize the default backup

To make any of these changes, open the Windows Task Scheduler and double-click the PI Server Backup entry.

After installing Data Archive backup as a scheduled task, you can customize the task.

  1. Change backup time.

The default time is 3:15 AM.

  2. Change the Windows user under which the task runs.

By default, the task runs under the System account. If you are using the pisitebackup.bat script to back up files to a remote computer, then run the scheduled task as a user that has sufficient privileges to write to the target directory on the remote computer.

  3. Change the path to the scheduled backup directory.

  4. If you need to exclude old backups as determined in Exclude old archives from backup?, append the command line of the scheduled task with the following:

    -excludeArchivesWithEndTimesOlderThan EndTime
