Build performance monitor points

Use PI SMT to create PI points to track performance counter data that the PIPerfmon interface collects.

1. To start PI SMT, select Start > All Programs > PI System > PI System Management Tools.

2. Select the Data Archive server on which you want to create the performance points.

3. Expand IT Points and select Performance Counters.

4. On the Tag Settings tab, select an existing PI Performance Monitor interface.

   If no interface appears in the list, make sure PIPerfmon is installed and running on the Data Archive server. You configure PIPerfmon by using PI Interface Configuration Utility (ICU). For more information, see Configure PI PerfMon interface on each PI Data Archive server.

5. Click the Build Tags tab and select the performance monitor points you want to create from the list of available counters. See Which performance counters to monitor.

6. Click Create Tags to create the performance monitor points.

To see the current values of performance monitor points, in PI SMT select Data > Current Values and use the tag search to find your points.

To monitor data tracked by these points, build trends in AVEVA PI Vision.
