Data Archive Administration

Data Archive daily health check

  • Last UpdatedMar 08, 2025
  • 2 minute read

We recommend that you regularly check key elements of your Data Archive system. This process has traditionally been called the daily health check even though most of the checks do not need to be performed daily. These checks allow you to identify and resolve potential problems before they become serious. You can also determine how your Data Archive system operates under normal conditions and establish a baseline to use when you set up automatic monitoring.

Archives

Verify that you do not have any corrupt archives, and especially that:

  • The primary archive is not corrupt

  • If you are backfilling, the archive you are backfilling to is not corrupt

The PI SMT Archives tool flags corrupt archives and allows you to reprocess them while they are online.
