Automatic archive creation

Data Archive automatically generates a new archive for an archive shift.

Generally, it is easier to track available disk space than which archives are mounted, what they contain, and whether they can be overwritten. If your hard disk becomes full, Data Archive can act in the following ways:

• Overwrite old archive files

• Hold data in the event queue without sending it to an archive

We recommend you use MCN Health Monitor to monitor disk space on Data Archive and use notifications when free space is low on the Data Archive server.
