Compress a file base file

Before you run this command, you must shut down the subsystem that owns the file.
If a file has more than 10 percent of unused space, you can compress the file to save disk space.

Find the percentage of unused space in a file. See List the header and index.

In a command line window, change to the PI\adm directory

Type:
pidiag -fbcpath [-header]
where path is the complete path of the file.
Use the header option to list only the header.
