The archive manager data file, piarstat.dat, contains the list of archive files known (registered) to Data Archive. If this file is corrupted, you can use the pidiag utility to rebuild it.

Description |
|---|---|
|
|
Dumps the current piarstat.dat file, which is used to review the data in the file. |
|
|
Provides an interactive recovery utility for renaming the old piarstat.dat to piarstat.old and generating a new one with a single entry (the primary archive) provided by the user. |
|
|
Provides an automated recovery utility that renames the old piarstat.dat to piarstat.old and generates a new one with all of the entries found in the original file. Any errors will cause the automated version to abort, and you must resort to the interactive version. |
-
Copy the piarstat.dat file to a temporary location. Do not overwrite the original file. Rename the file in case you need it later.
-
Stop the Data Archive server.
-
Run the pidiag -ad command, collect the dump of the piarstat.dat file, and verify the output.
-
If the results of the dump look normal, attempt the automated recovery. Otherwise, use the interactive one.
-
Restart the Data Archive server.
-
Check the message log to see if all archives are loaded. If the interactive version is used, only the primary archive is loaded.
-
Register any remaining historical and future archives. If the interactive version was used, all other archives must be registered.
