Group flowsheet units

Several flowsheet units can be added to a group. A group can be moved around the canvas as a single unit in order to make drawing complex topologies simpler. To group flowsheet units together:

1. click the mouse on the drawing canvas and drag a rectangular area around the units that should be grouped together

2. right-click the canvas and select Group from the context menu

Individual units in groups cannot have their settings edited. In order to edit the settings for a particular unit or stream in a group the group must be ungrouped.

To ungroup a group of units:

3. right-click the group which is no longer required

4. select Ungroup from the context menu.

Changing the viewing order of Flowsheet Units

For topologies which contain many units it may be useful to change the order in which units stack over each other. By moving a unit to the top of the viewing order all other units will appear behind it in the topology. To change the order in which units stack on the canvas:

5. right-click the selected unit or group whose stacking order needs to be changed

6. select Bring to Front to move the object to the top of the drawing canvas so all other units appear behind it, or select Send to Back to move the object to the bottom of the drawing canvas so all other units appear on top of it.
