Work with multiple bases

If the Case is set up to use Multiple bases when adding the new Data Set the Base with which the data is associated must be selected. If a system cannot be linearised over its whole range it may be possible to split it into several smaller linear systems, each of which has a different Base + Delta model and therefore a different Base. Each model requires its own set of data in order to perform regression. When adding a new Data Set the specific Base to associate the data with must be selected.

The specific Base to use is chosen by the LP Optimiser using a switching parameter. The parameter which causes switching is defined when setting up the different Bases (Define a variable for switching models).

To define the Base with which a Data Set is associated:

  • Select the required Base from the Base: drop down list.
