Unified Supply Chain Process Model Manager

Add model parameters

The Inputs list can also include Operational Parameters. An Operational Parameter is a variable which affects the properties of the output streams from the flowsheet unit. For example the severity of cracking in a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) will depend on the riser temperature inside the flowsheet unit. Riser temperature can be added as an operational parameter to drive the models calculations.

When using rigorous process unit models these models may expose certain model parameters. These are listed in the Model Parameter drop down menu.

Use the Operational Parameter dialog to add variables used in the Base + Delta Generator case

To add an Operational Parameter:

  1. Click the Add Operational Parameter button

  2. Select the required Process Unit the parameter is associated with

  3. For a manually edited parameter select the radio button next to and type the name of the parameter in the Manual Name field

  4. For a manually edited parameter select the Unit category for the parameter from the first Unit menu, and select the actual measurement unit from the second unit menu

  5. For a parameter exposed by a process unit model select the radio button next to and choose the exposed parameter from the Model Parameter menu

  6. Type a Default tag for the parameter which is used to refer to the parameter in output results, this tag can be overridden on a Base-by-Base basis using the Tag grid (Tags)

  7. Click OK to add the new Operational Parameter.
