Create a User Calculation to determine the Example Characterisation Factor ( ECF) given by the formula:

ECF = SG/MBP2

where:

ECF = Example Characterisation Factor (no units) SG = Specific gravity @ 15.6°C (no units)

MBP = Mean boiling point (Kelvin)

  1. Add a new user calculation. Select the User Calculations page of the Case Document and click to add a new calculation.

  2. Enter a name and add any required symbols.

    1. Enter a name for the User Calculation in the Name field of the User Calculation dialog.

    2. For each variable that is used in the calculation click the Add Symbol button . Select the type of variable from the list of available types.

  3. Select symbol properties. Configure each symbol with a Name , which is used to refer to the variable in the calculation formula. Also set the symbol properties (which depend on the type of symbol chosen Define the user calculation).

  4. Define further symbols. Add all required symbols by clicking for each symbol and defining the name and symbol properties for each variable. Each symbol must have a unique name.

  5. Write the formula to calculate the value. Define the formula which calculates the property using the variables. Do not include an equals sign (=) in the formula, or refer to the final formula by any tag. The formula should only include the variable names and standard mathematical operators.

  6. Change the display format and add a comment if required. If required enter a comment and change the display format of the User Calculation. Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog.
