Define streams and material types

Each flowsheet stream has several settings which can be edited using the Flowsheet Stream Properties panel:

1. Name - the name of the flowsheet stream in the topology

2. Add Material Type - a menu allowing selection of the set of properties associated with the stream.

Flowsheet streams can be associated with Material Types. A Material Type is a group of properties which may be relevant to a particular stream. For example the Kero material type is a list of properties relevant to kerosene streams. This would include properties such as freeze point which may be relevant to the final product specifications, and will also include any properties which are used to drive process unit models for process units which consume that stream. For example the sulphur content of the kerosene stream would be used to drive any kerosene hydrotreater models.

To add a Material Type for a stream:

3. Select the stream the material type should be added to.

4. In the Property panel select the name of the Material Type to add from the Add Material Type menu.

5. Continue adding any other required Material Types To remove a Material Type from a stream.

6. Select the stream the material type should be removed from.

7. Select the text for the Material Type name and press Delete.
