Configure certificates

When accessing PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS, Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, you might receive the following warning:

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The steps below describe how to configure the security certificate for your browser.

Note: You must be an administrator on the local computer and have access to PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS and Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS GeoEvent Server.

  1. Start Internet Explorer as an administrator by right-clicking the Internet Explorer icon in the start menu then selecting Run as administrator.

  2. Point your browser to the PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS site.

    If you receive a warning about your site certificate then continue with the steps below.

  3. If the site certificate warning displays, click Continue to this website (not recommended).

    Internet Explorer displays an HTTP 404 error indicating that the page was not found. The address bar also displays Certificate error.

  4. Click the Certificate Error link in the address bar.

    The Certificate screen displays.

  5. On the Certificate screen, click Install Certificate.

    The Certificate Import Wizard displays.

  6. Click Next.

    The Certificate Store screen displays.

  7. If necessary, click Place all certificates in the following store radio button and then click Browse.

    The Select Certificate Store screen displays.

  8. Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities from the list and click OK.

    The Certificate Import Wizard screen displays again.

  9. Click Next.

    The final Certificate Import Wizard screen displays with Certificate Store Selected by User highlighted next to Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

  10. Click Finish.

    You might receive a security warning which says that you are about to install a certificate from a certification authority that claims to represent a source that cannot be validated. You are asked if you want to install the certificate.

  11. Click Yes.

    A message displays that indicates that the import was successful.

  12. Click OK.

  13. Close and then reopen your browser.

    Your browser is now configured.
