Create a feature service using the ArcGIS Enterprise option

You use the ArcGIS Enterprise option to automatically create an ArcGIS feature service with the appropriate schema. Follow the steps below to create a feature service.

1. On the Create Feature Service screen, enter the URL of your local Portal for ArcGIS, your user name, and password.

   The user name and password are for your local Portal for ArcGIS. The account credentials you use must have administrator privileges.

   Note: When you create a Feature Service using Portal for ArcGIS, and the Portal is configured to use Windows Integrated Security (WIS), you must specify the username exactly as it was entered when Portal for ArcGIS was installed. You can check the exact user name by using a browser to access Portal for ArcGIS and selecting My Organization. The username is displayed in the following format:
   <username>@<domain>
   For example, if the username displays as JohnSmith@CORP, you must enter the user name exactly as shown, making sure to match uppercase and lowercase characters. If the portal username is not specified exactly as it exists in Portal for ArcGIS, the following message displays: User folder does not exist.

2. Click the Verify credentials button.

   If the login credentials are correct, the wizard shows suggested Service and Layer names with descriptions. The Geometry Type and Spatial Reference coordinate system that you selected previously are also displayed.

3. Enter a new Service name and Description, a new Layer Name and Description, or leave the default names and descriptions as-is.

4. Click the Create button.

   When you select Create, the service and layer are created in Portal for ArcGIS. If successful, the following message is displayed:

   Feature Service created

5. Click Next.

   The Configure GeoEvent Server screen displays. Proceed to Share the feature service for the next step.
