The Migration Utility prepares GeoEvent inputs which previously interacted with the 2015 version of the Application Server so they work with PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS 2017. Running the migration Utility ensures proper interaction with the 2017 version of the Integrator.
-
Start the Migration Utility by selecting Tools > Migration utility.
The Migration Utility screen displays. If you do not have an ArcGIS GeoEvent Server end point defined, the following message displays:
You do not have any ArcGIS GeoEvent endpoints defined.
Register a GeoEvent Server Manager on this page: Administration>SystemsIf you have more than one ArcGIS GeoEvent Server configured, you can select which server to update in the following step. The Migration Utility operates on only one server at a time.
-
Select which GeoEvent server to update, then enter your ArcGIS GeoEvent Server credentials. Click Verify Credentials when finished.
If the user name and password you entered were valid, a message displays indicating whether the inputs require migration. If none of the inputs on the ArcGIS GeoEvent Server you selected require updating, the following message displays:
No candidate inputs for migration were discovered: GEE_name
If one or more ArcGIS GeoEvent Server inputs have been configured, you can select one or more from the list.
If one or more ArcGIS GeoEvent Server inputs are suitable for migration, they will display with check boxes next to them.
-
Select or deselect ArcGIS GeoEvent inputs as desired.
You use the check box next to each input to select that input to update (migrate). The Migration Utility displays the name of the input, and both the original URL and an updated URL with the correct designation for PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS 2017. Both the URL and the port number within the URL are updated. Click Submit selected inputs when finished selecting inputs to migrate.
A status is displayed for each item that was selected indicating whether the migration to the new URL was successful. In addition, both the old and new input URLs are displayed.
Note that the Migration Utility does not verify that data is flowing through the updated inputs. You must verify that data is flowing by monitoring the inputs in ArcGIS GeoEvent Server Manager.
