If your PI system does not contain geometry information, such as latitude and longitude, you should follow the instructions in the topics that follow.
-
Binding an application to PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS
For each instance of PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS you have deployed, you must create an application in ArcGIS (either Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online). In other words, you must bind the application with every deployed instance of PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS. Note the following:
-
To access secured layers in ArcGIS Online, you must first create an application in ArcGIS Online. This is a one-time administrative operation.
-
To access secured layers in a Portal for ArcGIS instance, you must first create an application in that Portal for ArcGIS instance. This is a one-time admin operation.
-
To access secured layers in both Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online, you must create applications in both Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online. In this case, you will have to maintain multiple App IDs.
-
-
Binding a secured layer to your ArcGIS account
To join a secured layer to your ArcGIS account, the layer and the ArcGIS account must be accessible by the same account credentials. Note the following:
-
To join with a secured layer in ArgGIS Online, enter your ArcGIS Online App ID followed by your ArcGIS Online credentials.
-
To join with a secured layer in Portal for ArcGIS, enter your Portal App ID followed by Portal for ArcGIS credentials.
-
For information about creating an App ID in ArcGIS, see Linking to a geometry feature layer that is not publicly available.
