Create a pop-up

Each symbol on your map represents an asset. When you click a symbol on a map, a pop-up is displayed. You can edit the pop-up to include a link to your AVEVA PI Vision server, allowing you to monitor real-time information about that asset. The specific information shown depends on the fields selected when the layer was created. You can link a symbol to an AVEVA PI Vision server, then the pop-up will contain a link to an AVEVA PI Vision display.

Ensure that you have configured an AVEVA PI Vision endpoint (see Configure PI Vision server endpoint for more information).

  1. Open your map in ArcGIS.

  2. Select one of the layers by clicking it.

A drop-down list appears next to the selected layer.

  3. Select Configure Pop-up from the drop-down list.

A list of pop-up properties is displayed.

  4. Select Image from the ADD drop-down list in the Pop-up Media section.

  5. In the Configure Image window, enter a Title, Caption, and URL to use for the pop-up image.

The URL should point to an image. The image will appear in the pop-up and will act as a link to your AVEVA PI Vision server. You should use the same link that was configured when you set up AVEVA PI Vision (see Configure PI Vision).

  6. In the Link field, enter the link to the AVEVA PI Vision server using the same URL as was entered in the Ad hoc display field (see Configure PI Vision).

Now, when the pop-up is clicked, it will contain the image that was configured in step 5. Clicking the image in the pop-up will link to your AVEVA PI Vision server display.
